If you see something, say something
CASA Kane County, Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Kane County Sherriff’s Office, and the Regional Office of Education are asking that you review the information below on how to keep our children safe!
The message is simple: IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.
Please read these 5 steps below to protect children, educate and report suspected abuse.
How to report abuse or neglect
1. Read the Letter of Introduction

2. Review Legal Mandated Reporting List
- School personnel
- Medical personnel
- Social services/mental health professionals
- Law enforcement personnel
- Coroner/Medical examiner personnel
- Child care personnel
- Members of the clergy
3. Listen to Mandated Reporting Podcast
Please note that not only is it required for mandated reporters to promptly report suspicions of abuse or neglect to DCFS but also that the report is confirmed, in writing, within 48 hours of the initial report. Download the Written Confirmation of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect Report below.
